BT: “Metaversal is my fourteenth studio album - a digital odyssey conceived for the blockchain during the isolation of lockdown. At its heart lives a singular, 200,000-line cryptographic engine: a fusion of audio-visual playback and secret-laden cypher. Here, audio-reactive art breathes alongside riddles, rewarding the curious with encrypted treasures. More than a record, it became a grand treasure hunt that culminated in fans unearthing a physical box set in a Manchester forest, guided by a Fibonacci spiral hidden within steganographic social media posts. To this day, I’m not sure who had more fun -me or the seekers.
The engine follows the lunar cycle, shifting its sonic landscape and adaptive three.js and Csound engine between day, night, and the ethereal glow of the full moon. To ensure its immortality, the project lives permanently on the Arweave blockchain with full nodal redundancy.
I created eleven hand-finished, 3D-printed forms that capture the "frozen" waveform of a pivotal moment from each track. These unique works were auctioned via Origin Protocol, each embedded with an NFC tag that bridges the veil between the tangible object and its on-chain counterpart. Bespoke dual-box sets, hand-numbered in gold foil were crafted and hand boxed by my wife and I for the tactile collector.
I viewed the blockchain then—as I do now—as a vessel for liberation; a medium for artists to reclaim their agency and be honored for their craft. It was a miracle to weave coding, cryptography, and melody into a single, unified expression.
I remain humbled to have navigated this intersection. My hope was to create an immersive experience that invited friends and fans into the expanse of a new internet, sparking a future where creators thrive on merit, meaning, and a profound, resonant connection with their audience.”
