Pink Bomb - Indica
1. Men-D Remix
2. dB9 Project Remode

Some records - despite their brilliance - get lost in the mists of time, that Classic tag (prompting inclusion on countless compilations) proving elusive. Indica, released on Quad Communications back in 1998 is one of those tracks. At the time it was supported by Sasha, Digweed, Warren, Oakenfold – it’s a long list. It’s one of those tracks that makes you sit up and listen, with its simplistic production, ethereal vocal sample and rolling breaks middle bit it locked in countless dance floors back when the trance scene was in its Zenith. Men-D delivers the deeper remix, being a fan of the original version Romanian producer Mischa Mendel has capturing the lushness of the late 90s version on his production radar. He’s utilized and reimagined the original elements brilliantly, layering them on top of a tough percussion track with the original Shaft conga break plus snappy snares, crisp hats and punchy fills. Pink Bomb band member Darren Bayton a.k.a. dB9 has crafted his own Remode version; less progressive, considerably faster and more driving for early AM DJs. A rolling bassline gathers the pace and that ethereal vocal sample makes a welcome appearance.
