Evgeny Lebedev was born in 1988 in Moscow, Russia. He always felt love to the music and early classic trance stuff of Tiesto and Markus Schulz influenced his musical consciousness a lot. He started producing music in 2015 and his first production was a bootleg he did of classic Crossroads tune by Rio Addicts which was supported by Ruben de Ronde, Wellenrausch and DJ Eco, who, in fact, named him a very talented guy after playing it on his podcast.
Evgeny’s sound can be described as a synthesis of a classic coldharbour deep trance basslines, lyrical, touching melodies and serious progressive grooves and his “My Melancholy” tune which he released on infamous Electronic Tree imprint is a perfect example of that genres’ collision, where progressive groove meets thrilling trancey melodies and beautiful landscapes pads and effects, even Armin van Buuren couldn’t resist of playing that tune in the Cream & Deep Fog remix on his warm-up set at ASOT Festival in Utrecht, that was a huge step for Evgeny and later on he joined forces with fellow Russian producer Platunoff for the collab tune “After The Rain”, this resulted in another support from Armin, this time he played the Reiklavik remix on ASOT Festival in Miami, when Evgeny meets polish producers you can expect something big to happen.
A bit later on Markus Schulz and M.I.K.E Push played Evgeny’s remix of Indictus by Trian and knowing that Markus is his all-time musical hero, this was a key moment for him, a bit later on that resulted in his warmup b2b set with rather known Gordey Tsukanov at Stereo Hall in Moscow, providing him a huge experience to play alongside his idol. That night Evgeny, Gordey and Ilya from well-known Holbrook & Skykeeper duo had such a great time so they decided to make a collab tune together and a few months later they released it on Lange’s Create label under Evil Tribe alias, that one collected really solid support from the likes of Markus Schulz, Ben Gold and Andy Moor to name a few. Evgeny was really inspired by that and started a new side project called Soul State, oriented on cutting-edge trance music with stadium riffs and rhythms, Markus Schulz couldn’t resist once again and played it on his Global DJ Broadcast show proving his interest in Evgeny’s talent in music.
At the moment Evgeny Lebedev’s music has been supported by Aly & Fila, Paul Van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Solarstone, Ferry Corsten, Cosmic Gate, Roger Shah, M.I.K.E. Push and many more and he released it on such big imprints like Black Hole, Create Music and Pure Trance Progressive to name a few and his future looks bright.
