Hectic EP
1. Zone 10
2. Don't Tell Me

Hectic presents a brand new two track EP on the Rub A Duck imprint, featuring the titles “Don’t Tell Me” and “Zone 10”.

Talented UK Dubstep producer Hectic already made fame with various releases on Ministry of Sound and most notably with his recent batch of unofficial remixes that he made of tracks taken from The Prodigy album “Invaders Must Die”. The first title to kick off the EP is “Don’t Tell Me”, an undercooled but perfectly set up dubstep gem. A subtle use of synth and string programming gives the entire cut a movie soundtrack style sound that draws full focus on the beats, supported by a crisp and deep bassline. The synth line that sets in after the break will remind the older cats of the intro to the movie “Wild Style”, which adds even more street feel to the track.

The second title of the EP is “Zone 10”, a cut with rough industrial drum programming. It’s clear that Hectic doesn’t shy away from elaborate arrangements, in this case orchestral string chords with an attractive dark undertone, not to mention of course the deep rolling bassline. Here and there we hear subtle references to classic Coil productions, especially if you check out the beats. With this EP Hectic has definitely put his name on the UK Dubstep map, giving every self respecting DJ two superb cuts to ignite the world’s dancefloors.
